Grandpa Admire’s Lettuce

Description

This butterhead heirloom dates back to at least the early 1800’s, and was preserved by the Admire family, descendants of George Admire, a Civil War veteran born in 1822. Beautiful red, and bronze-tinged leaves. Forms tender, large loose heads of lettuce. Mild and fine flavor. Slow bolt. Matures in 55-60 days.
