Nasturtium – Empress Of India

Description

An annual from South and Central America, grown for it’s edible leaves and flowers. An old heirloom that’s been around the US since at least the 1890’s.  Plants grow 12″-14″ tall and have bluish-green foliage with bright red-orange flowers. Good for growing in containers. Leaves and flowers have a peppery tastes and are used as a garnish or in salads as well as a host of other dishes.
