A northern Alabama heirloom dating back to at least the 1920s. Plants grow 8-10′ tall. Seeds are large, and the stalks are sweet and juicy. Harvest early for syrup. Syrup is used to make molasses and the rains can be used for flours. Matures in 100-120 days for grain.
