Sweet Mace

Description

A perennial native to Mexico and South America, and referred to by many names (Mexican marigold, Mexican mint marigold, Mexican tarragon, Spanish tarragon, sweet mace, Texas tarragon, pericón, yerbaniz, and hierbanís). Plants grow to 12-24″ tall and have beautiful glossy leaves with small golden yellow flowers. Has a slight tarragon taste with a hint of anise. A favorite for many Southwestern chef for flavoring many dishes and used in teas and other drinks.
