Cumin is the dried seed of the herb Cuminum cyminum, which is a member of the parsley family. This annual is native to Egypt, however is now grown and used all of the world. Plants grow to about 6″ tall and are self seeding. Seeds are used to flavor soups, stews, curry powders, and pastries.
